Action is pleased to once again take part in the NYC Waste & Recycling Safety Symposium.
This Safety Symposium promises to be a highly engaging event for all attendees—workers, managers, advocates, and city representatives.
Leaders from the private carting industry, SWANA, and the New York City Business Integrity Commission are pleased to announce a Second Safety Symposium will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. This half-day FREE event will continue the conversation we began at the First Safety Symposium, where attendees learned various methods to improve safety for drivers of waste and recycling garbage trucks. Waste collection is the 5th most dangerous job in the U.S. – you don’t want to miss this event!
Following the keynote address, we will be offering three panels:
Panel #1: Safety from a law enforcement perspective, including counterterrorism measures.
Panel #2:Improving safety for drivers and helpers; preventing common injuries, handling various waste materials, and working as a team.
Panel #3: Effective tools for internal and external communications regarding safety in the field and at transfer stations.
